In an effort to help media buyers and sales teams more effectively build marketing partnerships, the American Association of Advertising Agencies and American Business Media have introduced a standardized form for requests for proposals (RFP), BtoB writes.

"The adoption of this process by both the Four A's and ABM marks a critical change in the way in which business-to-business media are evaluated, bought and sold," said Jeff Reinhardt, Prism Business Media senior vice president and member of ABM's Media Advisory Board Committee.

The five-page form details how media planners can obtain client information, including an analysis of clients' marketing goals, key competitor factors and metrics. Full article here

According to a new survey from Aquent Marketing Staffing, the future looks relatively rosy for marketers, at least those who are job hunting, because most of the marketing departments at Fortune 500 companies are now hiring.

Depending on the region, between 50% and 80% of the marketing departments surveyed plan on hiring this year, and Internet marketing is the number one area where marketing departments plan to increase spending across all regions. Full article here

 


Google GEO says more competition means more revenue

Google Inc. faces mounting competition in the Internet search advertising market, CEO Eric Schmidt said he expects such battles to drive up prices and increase revenues across the entire industry.

Print Newspaper Circulation Drops, Online Readers Increase

While newspaper circulation dropped 2.5 percent in the six-month period ending in March, newspaper websites had an eight percent increase in viewers for the first quarter of 2006, according to the Newspaper Association of America's analysis of data released by the Audit Bureau of Circulation.
